Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, we thank you for the month of April, as we pray your majestic hand guides us in the new month of May, 2021. In April we saw the shocks and devastation of the scourge of COVID -19, is still with us. Nations around us are literally up in flames from consuming deaths brought on by the virus and other pests. Your scripture says, “The Angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them” (Psalm 34:7). In the midst of these sweeping fires, we look up to you, remembering the night of the Passover when the hand of death swept over Egypt, yet the children of Israel were all spared because of the blood of the lamb. “When I see the blood, I will pass over you and will not harm you” (Exodus 12:13); we pray for the cover of the blood of Christ upon our lives, our households and our dear nation. Meanwhile, many of our children have completed their national exams, as others are back for holidays. Universities and higher institutions of learning are opening up back again from a long lock down. It is these young trees that will build the forests of tomorrow. We thank you for their protection; pray for their success. Through a harsh and withering economy, may we experience your success, while casting all fear aside: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10). As Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans”; we bring to you all our plans of May that you may guide them to astonishing success. May we see through May doors once closed opened! May we see our territories extended! May we experience promotion in the land! May our hearts not be subject to terrors but rest in the Lord who says, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). For as King David wrote, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me… Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life” (Psalm 23: 4-6). All this we pray in the mighty and conquering name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior.

Amen 🙏
