Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, we are thankful for the just completed month of February. It’s only for you that we are here, and for this we are grateful. Through the past month we experienced your goodness: a protective hand on the highways, success of children at school, rains that ripened the land, opening doors for new opportunities and more. You say in your word, “Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:3-4).

And as we now start a new month we look up to you that you pave the way. For as the Psalmist says for if we look up to you, the Lord will “save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge” (Psalm 91:3-4). And whatever might be causing fear in our hearts, it is you who says, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me”.   ( John 14:1). For all our hopes and dreams we are reminded, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”  ( Proverbs 5-6). For where there are seemingly formidable obstacles you say, “I will go before you and will level the mountain( Isaiah 45:2).

And whatever forces that may rise against us, you say, “Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you”  (Luke 10:19). Blessed with this assurance we gladly welcome this new month pregnant with anticipation, for “something good is going to happen” as Jesus of Nazareth is passing by our way, and all this we pray in the mighty Jesus’s name!
