“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” - 1 John 5:14 (NIV)

Perhaps you are at times discouraged in your prayer life and feel like giving up. You could have wished to secure a piece of property and are about to give it up for you don’t see anything coming up. Your prayer life has become stunted and you are losing hope. Not so fast, friend!

True; believers, sometimes can be discouraged in their prayer life. Yet Jesus reminded his followers to “pray and not give up” (Luke 18:1). I have been part of a Bible study group that meets regularly for many years. At the end of every meeting we share our prayer requests. Now almost every year we pause and go over those prayer requests. It is amazing to find how so many prayer requests are answered in totally unexpected ways.

Try writing down your prayer requests. There are those prayers that we might see immediate answers. Still others may not appear to be at that moment -only to find they were answered in totally unexpected ways over time. The bottom line is - do not give up on prayer!

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray that I may not be discouraged in my prayer life but always remembering that no prayer goes unanswered.
