Created for Glory and Honour!
“For Thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.” — Psalm 8:5 (KJV)
One of the greatest truths about our identity is that we were not created by accident, nor were we created to live meaningless lives. God created us with dignity, purpose, and a divine assignment. Scripture declares that He crowned humanity with glory and honour.
When God created Adam and Eve, He placed them in the Garden of Eden and entrusted them with the responsibility of tending it and exercising dominion over His creation. “The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it” (Genesis 2:15). They were created to reflect God’s character, represent His authority, and bring glory to His name. This reveals something important about us: God created us to carry His glory and honour Him through our lives.
Sin may have damaged the image of God in humanity, but it did not cancel God’s purpose. Through Jesus Christ, we are restored. Paul reminds us that those who belong to Christ are being transformed into His image from glory to glory, “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his imagewith ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Therefore, do not allow your circumstances to define your worth. Your failures do not determine your value. The opinions of people do not establish your identity. Your Creator has already placed dignity upon you. He says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” ( Jeremiah 1:5).
You were created to rise above mediocrity, to walk in righteousness, to exercise godly influence, to serve others, and to accomplish the purpose for which God placed you on earth.
Perhaps you have experienced rejection, disappointment, failure, or seasons when you felt insignificant. Remember today: God has not changed His purpose for your life. What people overlook, God can honour. What people consider ordinary, God can use for extraordinary purposes.
So walk today with confidence—not arrogance, but the confidence of someone who knows who created him and why he was created. Honour God with your character, your work, your relationships, your words, and your gifts.
Prayer:
Heavenly Almighty Father God, thank You for creating me with purpose, dignity, glory, and honour. Help me to see myself as You see me. Restore everything that has been damaged by sin, failure, rejection, or disappointment. Let Your image shine through my life. Give me grace to use my gifts, opportunities, and influence for Your glory. May my life bring honour to Your name and fulfil the purpose for which You created me. In Jesus’ name I pray!.
