Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth; we thank you for the month of March, which we gently roll behind us. As our children start to sit their exams we pray for grace, steadiness and your hand of success upon each and every one of them. They have worked hard; open doors of gladness as they conquer this part of their journey. We are aware that the ravaging pandemic is not over and there are places around us where we have seen the virus spike. The scripture says, “Though a thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, no harm will come near you” (Psalm 91:7). We therefore pray for protection and that your arms are spread around us, guarding us day and night.  Where it is written, “I searched for a man among them to repair the wall and stand in the gap before me on behalf of the land, so that I should not destroy it. But I found no one” (Ezekiel 22:30); instead we pray that you may raise in our midst the Nehemiah’s who stand in the gap to re build the walls of our dear nation (Nehemiah 3). For “He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46: 9-10). We thank you for the daily provisions of our lives, for good health, peace and quiet. In Isaiah 43:2 your words says, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, nor will the flame burn you” (Isaiah 43:2). In the midst of all the earthquakes around us, we hold to this word of protection. If there is fear of defeat and darkness swelling in our hearts we dispel it, welcoming the words of hope: “For he will be like a tree planted by the water that extends its roots by a stream. And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, and it will not be anxious in a year of drought nor cease to yield fruit” (Jeremiah 17:8). All to you King of Kings, our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, we pray that we may experience a blessed and awesome rich month! Amen!
