The power of prayer

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you" ( Mathew 7:7)

For any power cord to be useful everyone knows it has to be fixed into a socket where there is a switch to activate power. If a cord is left untouched and one expects power that would be considered a futile wish.

This anology explains why prayer is key to our life's success. God has left into our hands a power cord, but until we plug it into a socket, it is just a waste. Once you press it into the socket currents flow. Like that cord prayer touches the source of power for all of life. We know that power activates an army of angels who are dispatched by our Father God of heaven to come to our aid. These angels have the power to use supernatural means to fight our battles, but need to be activated. "Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word" (Psalm 103:20).

Because the enemy, Satan, knows the power of prayer, he is always at work to frustrate prayer in our lives. One way is to create doubts. For instance, he will make you doubt that the power cord in your hands will work. Belief in the power of prayer is therefore critical for success. "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us" ( 1 John 5:14).

Today, whatever need you have take it to the source of all power. Do not allow the enemy to block you with doubts of the power you are about to tap into. Then pray with faith and God will release his mighty power.

Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, today I tap into your power to release it to attend to my needs, and this I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour!
