The Lord God vindicates

 

"O my God, in You I trust, do not let me be ashamed; do not let my enemies exult over me" ( Psalm.25:2)

 

If you want to know one aspect that characterises Satan it is how he loves to mock or taunt believers, harras and ridicule them! Of course Satan knows that when he mocks a believer, if the target is not strong, certainly one would lose faith and wilt away.

 

If you are being tainted you are not alone. Hannah was taunted by her co wife Peninnah. "So Peninnah would taunt Hannah and make fun of her because the Lord had kept her from having children. Year after year it was the same—Peninnah would taunt Hannah as they went to the Tabernacle" ( I Sam 6-7). Same was with Goliath. "Goliath stood and shouted a taunt across to the Israelites. “Why are you all coming out to fight?” he called. “I am the Philistine champion, but you are only the servants of Saul" ( I Samuel 17:8). The Apostle Paul was too taunted by a demon possessed girl who "cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days" ( Acts 16:7-8).

 

What do you do when the enemy keeps taunting you. See how this story ends. In the end Hannah was visited by God and had a child ( I Sam 1:20); Goliath was slain by David (I Sam 17:50). For the girl with a harrasing spirit, "Paul,  greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour ( vv 8).

 

Perhaps you too are bring touted- your faith, your apparent lack of progress, your fall- but wait. The Lord God will vindicate you!

 

Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, you always have the final word and this is the faith I keep assured to f victory, this I pray in Jesus's name.
