The light has come!
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path" ( Psalm 119:105)
Whenever there is darkness and you happen to be about grappling your way towards home light is everything. Perhaps it is the full moon, the stars above or some street light that guide your way home. Maybe it is your phone which lights the way. For in the absence there is always the danger of side stepping into harm's way. You need light to safely guide you home.
When Christ came to earth ( Isiah 9:6) He was that light that shines through darkness and everyone needs. In the olden days sailors on high seas used to be guided by light houses that would lead them to the coast. Christ is that lighthouse to lead us safely home.
Only someone who is out of his mind would cast off light in the midst of darkness especially when it is offered for free. Besides, you could already have side stepped and known of the danger of walking without that light. The good thing about the light that Christ brings and offers for free is it remains there for you, in spite of all. "Look I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends" ( Rev 3:20).
Today, as we celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, know that He comes with that light you need for it is dark out there. But with His light of course you will reach safely to your destiny. May you embrace that light in all its fullness!
Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, you came into this earth to bring the light we need to sail through a dark world and today I receive that light my heart, to guide me safely to my destiny, this I pray in Jesus's name!
