“How abundant are the good things that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in you” - Psalm 31:19 (NIV)

Something quite obvious everyday is happening. There is a restless child perhaps in some danger and is crying at the top of his voice. The baby does not see nor has he a sense of feeling to know if his mother is around. But somehow in that cry is the faith that the mother will hear and come quickly and lift it up. The baby has faith in the goodness of her mother.

Just as well when we are pressed down, in a fix, fighting through a dark alley, why, certainly we can cry out too to the Lord. He will hear us.

But why?

When the baby cries it has that belief that the mother already knows it’s voice. It belongs to the mother. The baby doesn’t doubt the mother’s love. It takes it for granted.

We too when we cry out to the Lord we should be assured that the Lord knows our voice and He will come to our rescue. He surely will and does.

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that you come to my rescue through the situation I am presently going through.
