“Love the Lord God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and mind and “Love your neighbour as you love yourself.” - Luke 10:27 (NIV)

Before the lockdown Stephen was one person who whenever driving out would never stop to give a lift to anyone along the way. The reason had more to do with the fear that he might give a lift to some thug who would then hurt him. While this fear was factual and there were incidents like such, Stephen had also passed many people soaking wet in rain. But he feared giving any a lift. He said he feared one might be a thug!

Then one day driving he found himself late out and yet there was a curfew. The police stopped him and had him park his car. “Walk to your home and pick up the car tomorrow!”

It was dark. As he walked alone Stephen would dare not raise his hand for passing cars. He assumed they would fear he was a thug. He got tired from walking but kept on because it was too dangerous to stop. Suddenly from no where a boda motorcycle rode by. He waved and asked for a ride. Not only did the boda give him a ride but did not ask for a penny.

May we because of fear never run away from being Good Samaritans.

Prayer for today: Lord Father God of Abraham, today I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that I love my neighbour as I love myself!
