“But I trust in you, O Lord; I say you are my God. My times are in your hands” - Psalm 31:14-15 (NIV)

Many of the global events we are now witnessing like the sounds of war can cause us anxiety. Never ceasing accounts of global warming accompanied with occasional tsunamis can lead many to fear for the future of the earth. Fringe states have now amassed nuclear war heads and they could fall into the hands of a mad man can cause one to worry about a future global inferno. The economic conditions of the world and mismanagement of resources often resulting into a fight for resources can bring out the worst in us, which is a cause to worry. Diseases such as Ebola and incurable cancers that often take free reign make many now pause with wonder if there is future in the world.

True! There is a lot to worry about. However, as believers we are comforted that the future is in God’s hands. This was the situation which David faced when he was surrounded by enemies and it all appeared bleak. King David cast his cares into the Lord, who is in control of the future.

Yes there is and will be a lot going on to cause us anxiety. In the midst of all the enemy, Satan, is also at work with all his dirty schemes. But do not be worried! Our God has the future of the universe in his control.

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray that when I look around and am concerned about the state of the world I should remember and be comforted you are in total control.
