The day the Lord has made!

"The LORD has been so good to me! How can I ever pay him back" ( Psalm 116:12).

When an aged Sarah birthed a child as the Lord had promised of course she had to sing "This is the day the Lord has made!" Sarah said, “God has brought me laughter, and everyone who hears about this will laugh with me" ( Gen 21:6).

So was it for Hannah who after being taunted for years by her rival, Pennah, finally gave birth to a baby boy. "She named him Samuel, saying, “Because I asked the Lord for him" (I Sam 1:20).

When an aged Jacob finnaly saw a son he thought he had lost, Joseph, he burst with joy. "Israel said to Joseph, “Now I am ready to die, since I have seen for myself that you are still alive" ( Gen 46:30).

And just as it were for these you too might have experienced a long draught. Perhaps there was this prayer request that you held on dearly for a long time. But your waiting has not been in vain. “For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will surely come and will not delay” ( Habakuk 2:3)

Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, today I rise to give thanks to you, for this is the day you have made, and let us give praise to you, this we pray in Jesus's name.
