Stay focused
"I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus" ( Phillipians 3:14).
Distractions do happen in life and when not careful they can make you loose focus and deny you of the victory you expect and deserve. The Bible warns us, "Be on your guard and stay awake. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack" ( 1 Peter 5:8). What is clear here is that there is an enemy ever pursuing us and quite determined to get us off course.
A good example of how the enemy works to distract any of us is when Peter once challenged Jesus and his prediction about his end. At once the Lord was very clear who was behind this and without wasting rebuked Satan, "Get behind me, Satan!” he said. “You do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns" (Mark 8:33).
Beware of distraction. They can come in many ways. It can be seductive temptations making you lose track. Sometimes it is the mind wandering with negative thoughts. And, when not on guard, before you have realised, you have lost it all. For the aim of distraction is nothing but to make you loose focus and with that the thief would have accomplished his victory, which you must not allow!
Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray that you help me stay focused on the prize denying all needless distractions, this I pray in Jesus's name.
