Seasons for a purpose
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.." ( Ecclesiastes 3:1).
Those who walk with God do experience varying seasons. Joseph led a tumultuous life that started with a season as a favoured child; only to end up in slavery, briefly serve as a head of Photiphar's household, only to plunge back in prison, but finnaly be raised to a premier position ( Gen 37-47).
For Moses after a princely childhood; he was forced into the wilderness, then came the call of God to lead his people out of slavery, catapulting him into a life as a liberator and shepard of his people. King David lived through many a turbulent seasons: a nobody herdsman, who is suddenly the hero who kills Goliath, only to be persecuted by King Saul, finnaly raised to Kingship, yet to be overthrown by his own son, and then passing his sunset years in quietness and contentment (I Kings 1).
Like these servants of the most High God; you too might have experienced various seasons- some glorious yet others of certain discomfort. For every season there is a purpose. Instead of fighting the seasons God brings in your life what is important is you allow these seasons to perfect you into the person He wants you to be.
Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, I thank you for all the seasons of my life, each there for a purpose and today may I hear from you of that purpose, to serve you better, this I pray in Jesus's name.
