Rescue from fire

"Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory" ( Psalm 50:15)

Passing through fire is an experience any can share.Once there were three young men who were made literally to pass through fire. After rejecting to worship an image of King Nebuchadnezzar, gloating with power, he ordered them thrown in a furnace.  "The king’s command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace" ( Daniel 3: 22-23)

Expecting that they would all be smothered into fine ash, suddenly the King saw them come out unharmed. He "asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?” They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.” He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods" (vv 24-25).

Jesus had come to their rescue! "Then Nebuchadnezzar said, “Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued " ( vv 28).

So, are you going through any fire! The same God who rescued his three faithful servants is the same "today and forever" able to come to your rescue once you call upon him.

Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, no matter the fire I encounter, I look up to you, knowing you will come to my rescue as you did for Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, this I pray in Jesus's name.
