Our God the Deliverer!

“And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying: ‘Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down—he who accuses them day and night before our God.’” (Revelation 12:10)

Before soldiers go into battle, they study their enemy thoroughly. They gather intelligence on his strengths, weaknesses, strategies, and patterns. This knowledge helps them form an effective plan to defeat him.
In the same way, as Christians we have a real enemy — Satan. Yet many believers know very little about him, his tactics, or his character. Understanding who he is and how he operates can help us stand firm and fight effectively.

Jesus described Satan clearly in John 8:44: “He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Satan is the master deceiver. Revelation 12:9 calls him “the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world.” He rarely uses outright lies; instead, he twists truth, distorts reality, and offers deceptive promises.

Satan is also a murderer. Jesus contrasts him with His own mission in John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Driven by pride and a lust for power, Satan seeks to drag as many people as possible into destruction with him. Flirting with him is like dancing with a poisonous snake — it always ends in disaster.

Thankfully here is the good news: we are not left to fight alone. God has provided the ultimate Deliverer — His Son, Jesus Christ. Through the cross and resurrection, Jesus broke Satan’s power and set us free.
Today, do not fear the enemy. Instead, put your trust fully in the One who has already defeated Satan.

Prayer: Lord God of Abraham, Maker of heaven and earth, I thank You that You are my Deliverer. Equip me with Your power and wisdom to overcome the schemes of the enemy. Help me walk in the victory that Jesus Christ has already won for me. In Jesus’ mighty name!
