Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, I come to you at the beginning of this year, 2025, with thanksgiving and anticipation of something good about to happen. As I look back to all the trials and tribulations of the past year I choose not to surrender myself to defeat but instead welcome hope and a new beginning, for you say, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." ( Isaiah 48:18-19). Where I was hurt and disappointed help me forgive and not be held back as a prisoner of resentment. Yes, I pray that you give me the grace not to dwell on my loss, pains and defeat of the past year; but instead look ahead with fresh hope remembering your word, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; have summoned you by name; you are mine” ( Isiah 43:1). I declare I am a child of favor and blessings. Help me not to hold on to the scars of the shame that the past year may have brought. Give me the grace to forgive and look beyond for your plans for me are too awesome to imagine. You say in I Peter 5:10: “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” Indeed as you restored Joseph from the dungeons of a prison where he had languished on false accusations, me too shall be lifted as you enthrone me anew with victory. May this New Year be a start of a bright new chapter in my life where whatever roadblocks that stand in my way you clear all for a smooth passage of success. May your hand be upon me wherever I go and your Holy spirit may He indwell in me to give me comfort and joy ever more. In this new season of life help me align my plans with yours to taste of certain and pure victory. And for whatever threats arraigned against my life I receive and take your “authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you” ( Luke 10:19). This year may I see all my prayers answered because you have heard the pain of my cry as you did for Jabez: who cried to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request” ( I Chronicles 4:10). For I know with you covering my back this is going to be an amazing year of accomplishments, a year of conquering mountains, a year of dancing like King David when he received back the ark to Jerusalem. Yes, 2025 will be a year of restoration of all that the enemy dared snatch from me, as you say “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you" (Joel 2:25). I declare 2025 is for victory and celebrating your goodness. It’s a year of sweeping testimonies of your favor. For you say, “Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him” ( Psalm 34:8). I give it all to you, in Jesus’s blessed name I pray 🙏🏾
