“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love” - 1 John 4:7 (NIV)

There are many images out there of God. Some people have in fact a very harsh idea of God as a terrible creator and have chosen to distance themselves from God. Yet so often forgotten is how loving God is.

This is clearly evident when John writes, “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God” (I John 4:7). John further adds, “This is how God showed his love among us. He sent his one and only son among us that we might live through him” (1 John 4:9)

Many people when expressing their love usually do with gifts. However, to find a person who demonstrates love for someone by giving in their child that is rare, if ever. There are certain things which most of us would hold on to the last- children being a no go area.

Whatever image is out there our God showed to us that he is indeed a God of love by giving the ultimate gift of his son, Jesus Christ, for our salvation. The only burden left to us is to respond and then we are assured of eternal life as promised in his word.

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray that I accept your love by receiving your son as Lord and Savior and sharing that love to those who do not know you.
