God is able!

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work”- 2 Cor 9:8

Moses had a noble cause. After seeing the oppression of his people he decided to act. “One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand” ( Exodus 2:11-12). This attempt to liberate his people was a non starter. Soon word went around that he had killed an Egyptian. Immediately he knew he had to flee into exile to save his skin.

Since his motives were noble Moses might have wondered why God had not come to his rescue. This must have crossed his mind as he gave up a princely palace for endless days now spent in the scorching sun herding sheep. But this was not abandonment for God had a plan. Rescue God could have done there and then and brought Moses the victory he yearned for. But there was an even greater cause. God was more interested in weaning Moses over to him than causing a mere palace coup. As Moses now endured the wilderness through forty years spent in the desert God molded him into the right servant for the cause he yearned.

Later when the time came God left nothing behind in aiding Moses liberate the Hebrews. The simple lesson is that not only has God his own timing but so often He is more interested in sculpting you and I into the person He wants us to be. Later all that you ever dreamt of will be granted for he has all the powers!

So child of God fret not when things are not moving as fast as you wish. God is working in you something more beautiful and triumphant to come to fruition at the right time.

Prayer: Lord Father God of Abraham, through those seasons of wilderness, may I ever be reminded that you are more interested in bringing me closer to you, for you are able to do more than I can imagine, this I pray in Jesus’s name
