Enter the gates with Thanksgiving

Give thanks!

"Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name" ( Psalm 100:4).

In a marjority of our African cultures a bride is won over with gifts. Usually a delegation of suitors is accompanied with baskets layered with enticing goodies. In some cattle keeping cultures any suitor is expected to arrive with a kraal of heifers too. These open the way into the hearts of the homestead and once pleased the parents, relatives and clan members release the bride.

Now that we are on to the last day of 2025, on the threshold of entering into a new year, standing at the gates, why not present a gift of your choice and ability to the Almighty God who has made it possible for you to overcome one year! When gifts are presented they open the heart of the owner who unlatches the doors of the gates to let any inside. In other words, don’t begin the year empty handed, whatever your present circumstances; but look around and present a gift to God for He is good.

The scriptures say, "What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?"'( Romans 8:31). If God lets you in into the new year who can stand against you? What force can defeat you? Go into the New Year with the Almighty God with you, well backed up with His favour!

Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, as I enter into the New Year I come to you with gifts of Thanksgiving that you may open the gates, and I may walk with you experiencing your blessing and victory, through the New Year, this I pray in Jesus's name.
