Delivered from rejection

Rejection can be one of the bitterest experiences any can suffer. If so, you are not alone. Joseph was rejected by his brothers. “So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe—the ornate robe he was wearing— and they took him and threw him into the cistern. The cistern was empty; there was no water in it ( Gen 37: 23-24). How it felt only he knew!

Moses too suffered rejection. After an attempt to liberate the Israelites, he was forestalled when his own people betrayed him. “The man asked, “Who made you our ruler and judge? Are you going to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought that everyone knew what he had done” ( Gen 2:14). Uncertain of protection, he fled.

Christ too was rejected by his own. After Pilate heard his case, he handed him over to his accusers. “And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children” ( Gen 27:25). Imagine almost all your kinsmen throwing you out!

But see how the story ends. Finally God comes through and delivers his own! Perhaps you have met a cold shoulder experience lately. Reminder as we see in the above the final answer lies with God. Rejection is a passage with God having the final say.

Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, as painful as any rejection may be I know by looking up to you and waiting on you, deliverance will come, this I pray in Jesus’s name!
