“The horse is made ready for the day of the battle but victory rests with the Lord” - Prov 21:31 (NIV)

There is a military and management saying that all plans fall into disarray at the sound of the first shot. Of course this does not prevent good soldiers or managers planning because no one has an idea of the outcome. The best soldiers and managers are meticulous at planning to the exception. But all good soldiers and managers also know that many plans do end up on the drawing boards. Environments in which they operate are always changing, leading to new alternative course of action.

Believers are no different. Like good soldiers and managers they too must plan. Like say a believer going for a long journey. It is wise to plan to carry enough money, say for emergencies. For example, booking ahead for accommodation is only smart.  Sometimes one can get to a place with all boarding rooms taken up. Planning ahead does not mean lack of faith but just using the wisdom from God.

Plan you may; but it is only wise to commit one’s plan to the Lord. By committing all of our plans to the Lord it means having done our part everything else belongs to Him.

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I commit to you all my plans that you guide them to success
