The waiting is over!
“There shall be delay no longer.” — Revelation 10:6 (NKJV)
Imagine going to bed one night as a prisoner and waking up the next morning to become the prime minister of the most powerful nation on earth. That was Joseph’s story. When the chief cupbearer finally remembered him and told Pharaoh about the Hebrew who could interpret dreams, everything changed almost instantly. Within hours, Joseph was brought out of the dungeon, stood before Pharaoh, interpreted his dream, and was elevated to govern Egypt. What had taken years of waiting was accomplished in a single day. His season of delay was over!
One of the most difficult experiences in life is waiting for something you know could transform your circumstances. Every passing day seems like a month, and every month feels like a year. Yet when God’s appointed time arrives, those long years of waiting seem to pass in an instant. God’s timing has a way of making the longest delay appear but a brief moment.
Hannah knew the agony of waiting. For years she endured the pain of barrenness and the cruel taunts of her rival, Peninnah. Yet she refused to give up on God. After pouring out her heart before the Lord, Eli assured her, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of Him” (1 Samuel 1:17). In due time, God answered her prayer and blessed her with Samuel. Her delay was no more.
Waiting is never easy, especially when the desire is deeply cherished. We wait for healing, employment, restoration, promotion, marriage, financial breakthrough, or the fulfillment of God’s promises. During such seasons, it is easy to feel forgotten. If we are not careful, discouragement can lure us toward shortcuts, deception, or other ungodly alternatives. Prolonged waiting can give rise to doubt and gradually weaken our faith.
But thank God that He is never late. Scripture reminds us, “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son…” (Galatians 4:4–5). God acts at the appointed time—not a moment too early and never a moment too late. When His time comes, doors open, chains break, prayers are answered, and what seemed impossible becomes reality.
If you have been in a season of waiting, do not lose heart. Continue to trust Him, remain faithful, and refuse to give up. The God who remembered Joseph, Hannah, and countless others has not forgotten you. In His perfect time, He will come through for you, and your testimony will be that your season of delay has come to an end.
Prayer
Lord Father God, waiting can be one of life’s most difficult experiences. Yet it is often through seasons of waiting that You draw us closer to Yourself and strengthen our faith. Grant me the spirit of patience and unwavering trust, knowing that in Your perfect time You will accomplish all that You have promised. Help me not to grow weary or lose heart. I believe that You will be glorified in my life, and that my season of waiting will not last forever. This I pray in Jesus’ name!
