Lord Father in Heaven, we thank you for taking us through the month of August, 2020. Just as you led the Israelites through the wilderness, you have been our light throughout. Even in the midst of darkness your light has shone up us. Where we were faced with obstacles that seemed insurmountable you have given us the grace to bear. When the way was unclear and the mountain seemingly too tall to climb you gently carried us through. We thank you for those gentle miracles in our lives where you came and did show you are around and do care for our individual needs. We thank you for feeding us and seeing we have a roof over us. We thank you for protection. And where as we know there are those among us who have been visited with tragedies still you remain the Almighty God.

Lift up each and every one in only the way you know. Give us that calmness and quiet confidence to face the seasons. May we never cease to share the Good News of salvation to those around us. We commit to you the nation of Uganda as it prepares for General elections. Your word says, “I looked for someone among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so that I would not have to destroy, but found no one”

(Ezekiel 23:30). Lift up among us those with the vision to build the wall, like Nehemiah who cried to his people, “You see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and we will no longer be in disgrace” (Nehemiah 2:17).

Raise among us Esthers who through “prayers and fasting” (Esther 4:16) a nation was saved.

Lord father in heaven we pray for all the children particularly those seated at home and anxious for their future. May they hear you: “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among nations, I will be exalted in the earth” (Psalm 46:10). In the same manner we pray for those who have lost their jobs or have their business down due to the pandemic restrictions. May all be reminded that the future is in your hands.

So, we lean on your word, “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:19). We now give you the month of September. May our lives bear witness to your word, “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).

Walk ahead of us as your word says, “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not discouraged” (Deuteronomy 31:8). This we pray in the beloved name of Jesus.
