“And he said to them, “Go into the world and proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation” - Mark 16: 15 (ESV)

After the death and resurrection of Jesus all his disciples scattered around the world. In fact all the twelve disciples would eventually die far from Jerusalem. They had scattered and were martyred while sharing the Gospel of Christ in far off places like Ethiopia, India and Italy. Their lives had always been on the move.

In Uganda the East African revival was also marked with disciples moving everywhere. From the hills of Namirembe they scattered down to Gahini in Rwanda and from there swept across Kenya on to Tanzania. Some like evangelists William Nagenda and Yosiya Kunuka would go out to preach the Gospel of salvation to Europe, America and the rest of Africa.

The disciples of Jesus have always been a people on the move. They have never been a people seated in one place to enjoy the comforts of a passing world. Rather, often of little means, fighting through hunger and cold, beaten down by a scorching sun, they have been ever on the go sharing the Good News of the Gospel.

Today as before you and I must ask ourselves if our faith is stirring us to move and share the Gospel wherever He leads.

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray in the mighty name of Jesus of Nazareth that I may ever be on the move sharing the Good News till your return!
