Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, we celebrate the passing of the month of August, as we gladly welcome September, in anticipation of something good to happen. Besides, there has been a lot to thank you of lame August; and other past many moons, that are long behind us! Thank you for protection and blessings in our lives to this day! May you grant us wisdom to lay all our plans before you, that you go ahead of us wherever we may, just as you went ahead of the Israelites through the wilderness. “By day the LORD went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night” (Exodus 13:21). For our dreams and labours, your sweet word says, “Unless the Lord builds the house,  the builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain” (Psalm 127:1). In this new month we pray for opening of doors.  For you say, “ I know all the things you do and I have opened a door for you that no one can close” (Revelation 3:8). You gave the prophet Isaiah a word which we here embrace, “When he opens doors, no one will be able to close them, when he closes door no one will be able to open them” (Isaiah 22:22). Just as the Apostle Paul testified, “The Lord opened a door of opportunity for me” (2 Corinthians 2:12); in this month we pray for a festival of opportunities to enamel us. We pray for the work of our hands, “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace” (Numbers 6:24-26). Blessed one, watch over our families that no harm will touch any of us; for Psalm 23:4 says, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4). And all we pray, in the mighty and conquering name of Jesus Christ, King of Kings and Lord of all Lords!
