“Do not be deceived. God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows” - Gal 6:7 (NIV)

Farmers are in a particularly privileged profession from which there are always seeing many life lessons. First, every farmer knows that you can’t reap what you can’t sow. A farmer who does not plant can’t expect a harvest. Secondly, every farmer knows that once you sow you must water the plant. If you just walk away and rely on good weather then good luck may not do much for you.  There are pests that can come and ruin your farm. You need to weed them out. Finally, once the crops are up every farmer has to put in time harvesting. Whatever the yield might be in the gardens one has to work and pick up the produce. Farming is not for wimps.

Our faith is also like that. If we do not sow seeds of reading the word it won’t germinate. If we don’t weed out all manner of distraction the seeds will die. And most importantly the fruit we bear will all depend on what we sow.

If you are not working on your faith and think because you believe all was done for you that is not enough. You may end up like seed thrown on rocky soils! Yours will be a stunted faith. You need to flower it with reading of the word and payer.

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven today I pray that you help me remember that I can only reap what I sow and more so work on the field of my faith to produce a good harvest!
