"This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed" (Habakkuk 2:3).

In the Biblical nation of Israel from its foundation there is a rich cast of heroes who shaped it in its walk with God. They range from Joseph the savior of an abandoned people; Joshua the warrior; David the King after God's heart; Solomon the wise King; Elijah who ascended to heaven; Elisha of miraculous powers; Queen Esther who saved a nation, etc! Each of these heroes played a defining role and is well remembered.

There is though one hero who stands above all these giants. It is reported, the "LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend" (Exodus 33:11). Further, on his departure, it is written, "Since that time there has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face" (Deutronomy 34:10). Seeing all the miracles God performed through his servant Moses one would wish to know how Moses got to that level! Was he always that great!

Actually one thing which is most interesting about Moses is that not only was he once a runaway fugitive; before those great 40 years as Israelis leader, there was also the little known 40 years of him scratching a living out in the wilderness! There was a long period of draught in Moses’s life when he was just a nobody. When the Lord finally appeared to Moses to task him to go back to Egypt he had been reduced to just another herdsman out with his herd!

But something happened! For once God showed up Moses’s life was never the same - up to the end!

There are two good lessons here. First, in the life of God's people there are seasons of draught, of whatever length or nature, which God uses to prune them for greater works. While some would see such as abandonment or dissertation, God is there working to perfect his servant for grater works.

And then finally when God shows up nothing remains the same. All the bitter past years are forgotten for something greater. Now all this should serve to us as a good motivation that the day God shows up, and He will, our lives, for all the trials and troubles, would never be the same!

Hence, in all, let no one be discouraged! If you are going through a rather long and difficult patch, like for Moses, one day God will show up and a life would never be the same again!

Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, through that drought in my life I know you are a redeemer, and for all, one day you will show up, and a life would never be the same, this I pray in Jesus's name.
