“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing...” - I Thessalonians 5: 16-23 (NIV).

It would be a lie for any believer to claim they have never once doubted the power of prayer. There are those moments when all of us feel like not talking to God in prayer. This apathy could be a combination of factors such as the drug of routine or failure to see the power of prayer in our lives.

Now the one thing we should all remember is that because prayer is our direct line to God it must be resisted by the enemy. Satan knowing the power of prayer is always working hard to resist prayer. Nothing the enemy loves than a prayer less life for he has robbed it of all its power.

But we must always pray because prayer works. When Joshua faced the Amelekites in battle as he fought along Moses had to rely on prayer. “As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his arms the Amelekites were winning” (Exodus 17:11, NIV).

Imagine, without prayer, loss! With prayer, victory. This is why you can never give up on prayer.

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, God of Abraham, today I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that am always mindful to persevere in prayer.
