"The angel of the Lord ecamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them"- Psalm 34:7 (NIV)

There is something simple that happens in everyday modern life. The moment one inserts a cord into a socket, click the switch, there is power. Two things to note here. If the cord is not inserted into the power socket, left to stand idle, power will not be fired into it. And then also one must click that switch.

Sometime back I took a ride in an electric powered car. Its owner told me it can only go on battery power for 8 hours at most. At night he charges it. One of the things Tesla and other electric car manufactures are attempting to do is have as many power charging stations across highways, just in case drivers run out of battery.

The Christian life bears some similar aspects. If we do not come to God in prayer we are like that idle power cord, almost useless. The power we need in life only starts once inserted into the socket. Then our lights beam with life.

For when we pray many things happens without us realising, as with a cord inserted into a socket. One of those is that our prayers activates angels to come to our rescue. As Psalm 91:11 says, "For he will command his angles concerning you, to guard you in all your ways."

A power cord relies on someone to insert it into a socket. Us as individuals we do not need anyone to take us to the source of life. The choice is ours.

Prayer for today: Lord Father God of heaven and earth, today I come to you the source of power that you may give me the life I need and release your angels to protect me wherever I may be, this I pray, in Jesus's name!
