“But now, thus says the Lord, your Creator, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!” ( Isaiah 43:1).
The rainbow is a very beautiful circular shade that casts unique colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet; all splattered up in an arch formation normally after a downcast day. For many, ( or until recently), the rainbow was an innocent shade that appears once or so in the wide skies, but then these days matters are quite different. The colors of the rainbow have now been corrupted to mean something else, to achieve a political slogan of a certain bent. Rather than rejoice in its beauty the rainbow is now a political flag.
What has happened to the rainbow is a good example of how Satan corrupts good things created for an eternal and noble purpose for evil ends. You could start with money. There is nothing wrong with money which can be used as a medium of exchange to acquire goods and services of value. But Satan corrupts money by making one start worshiping and hoarding it for self aggrandizement. Money can achieve a lot of good thing but once it falls in wrong hands the end is nothing but evil.
Beauty is another area. God is a creator of beauty - whether it is our physical looks or the gardens of the earth. When Lucifer was created he was the most beautiful of all: “You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl. Your settings and mountings were made of gold” (Ezekiel 28:12-13). But then pride took over Lucifer: “and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God” ( vv 16). The beauty of Lucifer was abused and hence his fall.
There are many things God has put in our hands to enjoy and use for noble purposes. But as it is the enemy comes to corrupt them for evil ends. As Believers in Christ this should never escape us. We have also an obligation to redeem those things Satan has corrupted back the their original godly purposes.
Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, you who created all things for good and noble purposes, only for the enemy to corrupt them for evil, today I pray to guard which is yours and redeem those that have been corrupted back to your eternal glory, this I pray in Jesus’ name!

Perhaps one of the most inspiring passages in the Bible with enduring lessons is where Moses pleads to Pharaoh to let the Jews go. Instead Pharaoh dared Moses if he had the power as that of a king. Challenged to “perform a miracle” Moses turned to Aaron who threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs (Exodus 7: 9-12).
What we see here is the presence of occult powers in high places, as is true even today. A common mistake by some is to deny the existence of the occult behind certain thrones or power centers, especially in instances where we find those putting on a genteel manner of social respectability. There are also those who through their education and confined exposure to the spirit realm of things, doubt the existence of occult powers. The reality is that in the world we live in the enemy is much at work. 1 Peter 5:8 says, “Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
In this passage we see that while Pharaoh did release his snakes the staff God had placed in the hands of his messenger, Moses, was far greater and swallowed all. Here is the point. As believers we do have a far greater and mighty power to protect us from any attacks of the enemy. It is the blood of the lamb. As it is written, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony...” (Revelation 12:11).
Today whatever snakes you may encounter from anywhere be assured that you have a far greater power than of the enemy. It is the blood of Jesus. As His word says, “call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor Me” (Psalm 50:15).
Prayer for today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, today I pray for protection from the attacks of the enemy by the blood of the lamb, this I pray in Jesus’name.
