“If any of you lack wisdom you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” - James 1:5 (NIV)

It is normal for any of us when faced with a huge task to look for answers, may be desperately, sometimes going even in places that maybe counter to our interest. Indeed there are countless examples of those in the past and today who run to sorcery and other quick-gain-no- pain prophets.

Yet for Solomon he turned to the Almighty God. And what did he ask for. Wisdom.

“So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours,” (1 Kings 3:9, NIV). We know God was pleased with this prayer of Solomon and in answer gave Solomon not just wisdom but far more than he asked.

When we are caught in a fix and look ahead and tremble at all that the future presents as a threat, may we turn to the Almighty God. Then we should ask for nothing more but wisdom. It is wisdom that we always need to guide us in all situations.

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, that you give me wisdom to manage whatever the issues and challenges I face today and the days ahead!
