“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus” - Romans 8:1 (NIV)

One of the weapons the enemy constantly uses against especially new believers not grounded in the faith is to make them lose that assurance of salvation they received when they accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour (John 5:24). This he does by putting up stumbling blocs. It is not enough to accept Christ as Lord and saviour but a host of other new requirements and conditions are piled up, minimizing the significance and substance of one’s decision for Christ!

The enemy loves to bring guilt, especially where one does not perform any of those rites he has placed before those who are trapped into them. Instead of the joy salvation is meant to bring now they live arrow lives paralyzed with fear of not living up to yet a set of new commands. What was supposed to be a joyous walk of salvation is now an oppressive torment for having failed God in one area or another. The list can be endless.

Yet when we come to Christ indeed He sets us free. Those who believe in sorcery and other animist faiths are always treading carefully of stepping on the wrong side and being hit by the maddened gods. For believers we have been set free of all that fear because of the faith we have in Christ. “There is no fear in love but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love” (I John 4:18, NIV)

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that I do not allow the enemy to paralyze me with fear for I have placed my absolute faith in you alone
