“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him” - Psalm 24:1 (NIV)

There are two kinds of people in life you are most likely to find anywhere. There are those who are madly in love with this world and work 24/7 to possess anything they can lay their hands on. In fact, where it means taking the life of those who stand in their way, so will it be. There are full of themselves for their possessions and accomplishments which they boast of at every single opportunity. Possessed with this world they have little time for God.

And then there are those who hate this world to the point of not even taking care of their lives. Hardly do they work to improve their livelihood insisting they do not belong to this world. They care for no possession aside from a few basic needs. For some they live like creatures of the wild forests without any worries to improve on their surroundings.

These two extremes are far from how God intended us to live here on earth. The earth as it belongs to the Lord is for the children of God to enjoy. It is not for those who have rejected Him to feast of its pleasures. God desires good things for His children here on earth and so we should all pray to be blessed. In fact He has given us a manual of how we can prosper through His word the Bible.

At the same time we should not be so carried on like as if we here for ever. Some people live like they have a permanent address on this earth only to get a most certain rude shock in the end. The right attitude of a believer is that we are here for a while but are in transit for eternity with the Lord. Whatever we posses should only point us to the goodness of the Lord whom we serve and gladly wait to spend eternity with.

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven today I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that I have the correct attitude when it comes to possessing the things of this world.
