“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” - 2 Tim 4:7 (NIV)

A recent report I came across had startling statics regarding UPE completion rates. Of the estimated 2,259,850 who enrolled, only 485, 703 (23%) reached Primary seven. There are many reasons for such a high drop out rate, like lack of sanitary pads for girls. Almost any would agree it is disappointing to start a race and then not complete it.

Think of any journey you started and didn’t finish. Isn’t that a terrible and devastating experience? There is a certain feeling of failure to have wished to get somewhere only to end up midway. Sometime back I saw a rocket sent by India’s space station. It crushed in air and what a blow that was.

In our walk with Christ certainly there will be upheavals. But the greatest joy is fighting on to the end and not going half way. May we not be drop out or end up crushing mid air!

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray that realizing I am in the race I may fight to finish the race
