"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me” - John 14:1 (NIV).

In every life there are storms that do come one’s way. Some are storms of a prized job that is being threatened. There are storms of losses of loved ones. Sometimes storms affect a relationship. Others are political storms in a nation upsetting the economic well being of many. Storms everywhere.

Storms can particularly be upsetting. It is difficult to ignore a storm. And in fact one can be pushed back and bend with worry when a storm comes. If not faced up to a storm can destroy the best of any of us.

But what has God to say when faced with a storm? When storms come our way, as surely they will do, we need faith. Faced with a storm the disciples rushed to Jesus, who rebuked them,   “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm” (Mat 8:26).

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray that whatever maybe the storms I am facing I know you are God and in control.
