“But Timothy has just come to us from you and brought good news about your faith and love. He has told us that you always have pleasant memories of us and that you long to see us, just as we also long to see you” - I Thes 3:6 (NIV)

Back in school when the term would come to an end one thing I knew for certain I would have to go back with is a report card. Whereas my Dad would not dwell much on that card for my mother it was one item the holidays ever began with.

Mother would go through every single line in the end term report and express her delight or displeasure. I would stand by her bed tepid with worry at what the teachers had written about my performance. It was a good feeling to see a star and a good placing in class. But another affair when the report card came out with poor grades resulting into a bottom end position!

In many ways as believers our lives are working towards a report card. Is it a report that will bring cheer to the Father we serve or one that we would rather be spared to know of its content? Just as the Timothy took back a good report about the conduct of the Thessalonians may our lives equally work towards that report that is pleasing when we get home.

Prayer for today: Lord Father in heaven, today I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that I tirelessly work for a good report that is pleasing to our Father God!
