“You have granted me life and loving-kindness; And your care has preserved my spirit” - Job 10:12 (NIV).

Perhaps you have once wondered if you are truly blessed! One of the tricks of Satan is to spread the lie and have someone think there are not blessed as much. Of course this can sometimes be provoked when one looks at himself and compares what he has to others. There can be for some a feeling of being less fortunate.

Although we might not reflect on this every day the gift to live is a blessing from God. Our lives in themselves are a sign of being blessed. The fact that you and I are today able to communicate is a manifestation of the blessings of God on us. As Job said, “The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life” (Job 34:4).

Every life in itself is a blessing from God. To wake up and enjoy the fullness of His creation is not to be granted. That is why, as we all know, there is no greater moment of sorrow to any of us, as when we lose the lives of a loved one. The grief can be overwhelming.

So today let us give thanks for the treasure we have - life! Our lives are our most precious possessions and may we not spare a moment ever be thankful of the blessing of life from the eternal God. Psalm 36:9 says, “For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light!”

Prayer for today: Lord Father God, you are the giver of life and I want today to rise and thank you for the blessings of my life!
