"And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him" ( Hebrews 11:6)

When Jesus used mud to help a blind man receive sight ( John 9), some doubted. After hounding this man several times, including pressing his parents to refute the healing, "They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents. “Is this your son?” they asked. “Is this the one you say was born blind? How is it that now he can see?" ( vv 18-19).

The parents not intimidated held their ground. "We know he is our son,” the parents answered, “and we know he was born blind. But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself" ( vv 20-21). Interesting!

Turning to him, thinking he will deny Jesus, "Then they asked him, “What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?” He answered, “I have told you already and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples too?” (vv 26-7). Oh oh!

Besides the obvious humour of this story the Pharisees were looking for a logical answer to how a man once blind could now see. Yet, as you see, Jesus had of all things used mud which he covered the blind man's eyes, asked him to go to a Pool, wash, and yes, he received his sight!

So, as a believer just always remember not everything God does makes "logical sense"! Indeed, you may find it a futile effort to convince many how God works. But then, like the once blind man, you know, God has His ways, different from man!

Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, not everything you do in our lives is logical as man understands, and so I pray that I grow in faith, believing in you for the impossible, in all situations, this I pray in Jesus' name!
