"He speaks in dreams, in visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on people as they lie in their beds" ( Job 33:15)
"Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. He said to them, “Listen to this dream I had: We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it" ( Genesis 37:5-7).
It seemed like Joseph was an upstart or pretender. The brothers loathed his nerve and attempted to murder him. Well, at the end of the day just as was the dream they ended up bowing before him. For down the road, "Joseph was the ruler of the land. He was the one who sold grain to all the people of the land. And Joseph’s brothers came and bowed to the ground in front of him" ( Genesis 45:7).
Also, when during one of his missionary journeys the Apostle Paul suffered a shipwreck and all on board thought they would die, he calmed all: "Last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood beside me and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caesar; and God has graciously given you the lives of all who sail with you" ( Acts 27: 23-24). All on board would survive in confirmation with that dream.
So, what dreams have you been having lately? When you rise do you note down your dreams or just brush them off! May be God is whispering to you a word of hope or a warning to safeguard you from a certain encounter!
Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, you speak to your people in many ways, including dreams, and for those dreams from you, help me to note them down, for there are for a purpose, this I pray in Jesus's name.
