"I correct and discipline everyone I love. So be diligent and turn from your indifference" ( Rev 3:19, NLT)
Whenever something is going wrong and not to standard it is desirable to correct it. We grow up being corrected, as in when seated at dinner table and are unmindful of leaving enough for others. A correction for good manners serves all well!
Because we are his children and He loves us, our God is always correcting us! After King David took another man's wife by causing his death, Prophet Nathan was sent to correct him. "Why did you despise the word of the Lord by doing what is evil in his eyes?" ( 2 Sam 12:9). David for all we know might have been unaware of this fault until God corrected him with a rebuke.
It's only a life that was perfect, that can't be corrected, and there is only one - of Jesus Christ! For the rest of us if we are to grow in the knowledge and experience of God, and because He loves, may our hearts be ever open to correction.
Prayer today: Lord Father God of Abraham, maker of heaven and earth, I thank you for that hand of correction, which leads me in the right path, and I pray I may ever be open to correction, this I pray in Jesus's name.
